As of 2014, organics such as green waste make up 34% (about nine million pounds) of California’s overall waste. Organic matter is made up of leaves, grass, pruning’s, branches, and other non-hazardous wood waste. Bunyon Bros Green Waste is the only 100% in-house green waste recycler on the central coast of California, reducing the negative impact of tree work on our environment and community while saving our customers the cost of dumping fees.
How Woodchips Benefit You and Our Environment
Woodchip mulch is beneficial around trees, shrubs, perennials, and small fruits. Woodchips create a favorable environment for earthworms and soil microorganisms, acting as an insulator and reducing the need for irrigation up to 50%.
Over time, woodchips help reduce soil compaction and improves the quality of your soil by breaking up clay. This allows better water and air movement through the soil and provide nutrients to sandy soil, improving its ability to hold water. Woodchips also reduce weed growth, and the weeds that do grow are much easier to manage.

Rather than improperly disposing of green waste and contributing to the methane generated by California’s landfills, Bunyon Bros recycles all tree and shrub removals and prunings on site and in our wood yard giving wood a new purpose as firewood and woodchips.
Woodchips for Sale
We have a wide variety of woodchips for sale that have been recycled from previous jobs we’ve done. We also carry Certified Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) Playground Woodchips.
Woodchips have a range of uses and are great for moisture retention, temperature moderation and weed control. In addition to the practical benefits of using woodchips, they’re also a great for aesthetics and can bring a new look to an existing garden or landscape.
Woodchip Delivery Available
Our woodchips are sold by the cubic yard. A cubic yard is 10 feet x 10 feet and approximately 3″-4″ deep.
Deliveries are available at the cost of $150 per hour for both directions, at a minimum of $150.

Bunyon Bros. is an Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) Certified supplier of playground woodchips. Our Eucalyptus playground woodchips are made from recycling wood product specific to the requirements of ASTM F1292 for safety, F2075 for purity, and F1951 for wheelchair access, and have been certified by a National Certified Playground Safety Inspector and a Certified Independent Testing Laboratory to confirm that they meet the safety standards for use as a playground safety surface under and around playground equipment.
In partnership with Bandit, Bunyon Bros has a specialty made Recycler with a 1,050-horsepower engine called the Beast. This one-of-a-kind recycler cuts chips to various, specified uniform size and shape.
Bunyon Bros. woodchips are delivered to locations all over California in partnership with our distributors.
